What exactly does this mean?
When we feel the warmth of the sun's rays on our faces, we feel happy.
The sun stimulates the body's own production of Vitamin D, which plays a major role in our well-being.
Unfortunately, though, the sun's rays can also be harmful. That's why it's very important to use sun protection products with effective UV filters.
Certain UV filters (aside from other causes) are believed to damage coral reefs and lead to coral bleaching, for example.
Hawaii was the first US state to pass a law (SB 2571) banning the sale of sun protection products containing the UV filters oxybenzone (benzophenone-3) and octinoxate (ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate). This law came into force on 1 January 2021.
The sun protection products from SHERPA TENSING did away with
oxybenzone and octinoxate many years ago.
